Hi all, I´m new one here. Amazing stuff here.

I have question about Lace Hot gold PU because I saw that some guitars have in bridge position Hot Bridge.. What does it mean??

I mean, on lacemusic.com they have Hot Gold PU and Hot bridge PU.. It mean that Hot Bridge is only one PU? Only for bridge positon? Some guitars have only Hot golds and some guitars have Hot golds with Hot bridge..

What is difference?,

Welcome.

Sparing you all the details, it means that the bridge model pickup is more powerful than the other two positions pickups.

You're welcome.

The pots you still have in your guitar now are enough.

The hot bridge pickup (13.2K) is optional.

Hot Golds are also available in a humbucker format (dually).

The set comes with Hot Golds for the neck and middle and a Hot Gold Bridge pickup (distinguished by a slightly different color for the logo). I put them in an American Standard, and I'm pretty happy with them. I like the Hot Gold set a lot more than my Red/Silver/Blue set.

I have a blue/silver/red set and was thinking of trying the hot golds. Could you characterize what you think the differences are? Sound, treble/mids/bass, output etc??
Thanks!

To my ears, the hot golds have more of the "Strat" character, to put it broadly. Ill try to describe the difference by positions, but it's all very subjective.

Neck: brighter and more bell-like than the blue sensor, with a bit less output. To me, the hot gold gives me more clarity with overdriven as well as clean tones. The top end is more pronounced, the mids are shifted up, and the low end is more rounded.

Middle: I don't find all that much difference in a hot gold middle pickup vs. a silver. There may be a slight increase in output with the hot gold, or it may just seem that way to me. Tonally, I have a hard time picking one over the other. IMO, both pickups, when used in the middle position, have a smooth but snappy "woody" tone that I just love with a little grit.

Bridge: the hot gold bridge pickup, to my ears, has as much output as the red sensor, with much better top-end. It has a snap and twang to it that the red sensor comes nowhere near with clean and mildly overdriven settings. With the gain turned up, I find the hot gold bridge pickup to be solid, but keeping a good bit of the Strat's signature bright snarl.

As a set, I find the hot gold sensors to be quite a bit more lively, with much more of the classic strat tonality; while the red/silver/blue set has always struck me as a great set of pickups for those who like a Strat's comfort and versatility, but don't care for the glass too much.

The Hot Gold Lace Sensors are my favorite pickups. There are two different Hot Gold pickups as you mentioned. The "regular" Hot Gold is a 6k single coil. The Hot Gold Hot Bridge pickup is a 13.2k single coil. BIG difference. The reason why Lace calls this pickup a HOT Gold is because they developed the pickup by starting with an original Gold Lace Sensor and tweaked it's design. The biggest change was to the magnetics of the pickup. They took the magnetics of the Red Lace Sensor, and used it with a Gold Lace Sensor coil. So the magnet is a "hotter" magnet than the original Gold. Probably not unlike the difference between an alnico 3 vs. an alnico 5 magnet, though Lace Sensors don't use alnico.

While you might think that the Hot Gold Bridge pickup then would be close to a Red Lace Sensor, nothing could be further from the truth. Like shadowgrass3 mentions, the Hot Gold bridge pickup has more high-end, more punch, and just nicer tone all around. I describe the difference like this...

The Red Lace Sensor has more distortion-type pickup qualities, while the Hot Gold Bridge has sledgehammer mids and way more impact. And the Hot Gold Bridge Dually is a real monster. I've pretty much tried all the standard configurations and a few non-standard, and I like them all.

I've seen several EC Strats fitted with the hot golds but actually never heard a demo from the hot bridge pickup with the mid boost cranked up for a comparison.

I agree with you after seeing pictures on some webstores but my package is different: I bought a set of Hot Gold with Hot Bridge (6.0k, 6.0k, 13.2k written behind the pickups) but the color of the inscription is absolutely identical! I also checked the impedance with a multimeter and I obtained 6.2k, 6.0k & 12.8K. How explain there is no color difference on the top? Here is a picture of my pickups (don't pay attention to the excess of light...):

The Clapton midboost circuit makes the hot bridge pickup screaming like a banshee. Great for scorching metal leads, IMO.
