Does anyone have any info on where I could find a Charlie Christian style pick-up or at least a replica, or perhaps a close relative? Thanks for any info

Charlie wanted his guitar to sound like a tenor saxophone. Here is a wiki link that mentions his pickup -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Christian_pickup

and this one -

I've looked for a month before, and those two were the only websites i found. I tried to look for a website that had some reasonably priced Charlie Christian pickups, but there was nothing within my price range, so best of luck with your search.

just now came across this website. Finally found a Charlie Christian pickup for a reasonable price. I'm probably going to put one in my neck position soon, so if it comes out great, i'll tell you.

Both Lollar and Vintage Vibe make Charlie Christian type pickups (aka "Chucks") that are wonderful in the neck position of a Tele.

The Lollar is more detailed and balanced for all-around playing, but the Vintage Vibe is huge, fat and loud. Neither sound exactly like a vintage Gibby Chuck, but of the two, the Vintage Vibe is closer.
