I've changed covers on my American strat before but they were'nt SCN's.
I thought they were all universal. RicOkc, please give us the skinny on why you should not. I also have an American deluxe strat with SCN's and I really could use the info.

The SCN pups I've seen look like sealed units and I imagine that trying to open one of them would probably damage it. I haven't seen replacement covers available for them. If they're anything like the Vintage Noiseless & Hot Noiseless (they have their own covers), standard covers won't fit.

I've changed the covers on my Hot Noiseless successfully (not recommended), but have read many posts by others that ended-up with a dead pup.

I'd drop an email to Fender support and see what they have to say before attempting it.
