I just bought some custom shop 53ri telecaster pickups out of a 99 custom shop tele off ebay. How can i verify that they are actual 53 ri pickups. Does anyone have any information on them? Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome.

A lot of questions along these lines tend to surface when it comes to Custom Shop instrument pickups. Here are several points to ponder:

If it has the Custom Shop sticker on the bottom of each pickup, it may very well be genuine. I say, "may" as it is quite easy to switch these stickers from one Custom Shop pickup or pickup set which Fender sells separately to any other pickup(s) or, this is premising that a sticker should have appropriately been there in the first place where chances are, this concern probably cannot or will not be definitively answered by Fender. This segues to the fact that most Custom Shop guitars' pickups usually don't find their way to where they are packaged and offered for sale. Compound this with Fender not being in the practice of publishing the bulk of these type pickups specs any way. So, unless someone has 'dissected' one or a set on her/his own, chances are the specs will never be exactly known. Also of consideration is the fact that just because Fender call it one thing, it doesn't necessarily follow that it genuinely is. By this I mean and for example, their model 57/62 Strat pickup was reverse engineered from a 1961 Strat pickup. Further, a '57 and a '62 Strat pickup of themselves have several differences between the two of them as does a '61 Strat pickup now among the three of them. Lastly and back to 1953 Tele pickups, due to the imprecise pickup manufacturing techniques of the early 1950s, each pickup back then differed one to the other where definitive specs, tonality, etc. would span a wider (albeit, acceptable) range. And not to compound this quandary, newly made pickups back then would certainly sound different then after almost 60 years of aging to what they sound like now (for better or for worse).
