I am building a new guitar, and it is going to be painted silver, with silver hardware and pickguard. I want to use pickups with a solid cover over them, like EMG style. I haven't decided on what pickups yet. The thing is, I want them to be silver, to match the hardware. If I paint the pickups with the same paint I use to paint the guitar, will it affect the sound or performance of the pickups?

If you look around I'm pretty sure somebody sells silver pup covers.

Pete is a good guy and makes some excellent pups. Close to the bottom of the this page he has some pups that fit what you are looking for.

thanks for the reply. on the page, i am assuming you mean the single coil pickups with chrome covers?

i should have been more specific in my original post, I want humbuckers, standard sized, or possibly mini humbuckers if they sound alright.
