Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have some questions. I looked around a bit and couldn't find an answer to these questions. I apologize in advance if I overlooked the appropriate response in a previous post.

I recently bought a 2010 MIM tele and want to upgrade the pickups. They sound dark and ice-picky to me. When comparing this guitar to the MIA equivalent through my BJIII, the MIA was much brighter and clearer where the MIM seemed darker to me. I decided on the MIM because I liked how it felt in my hands and got a significant discount on it. I wasn't satisfied with the pickups in the MIA. On another occasion however, I loved the tone that came from the Road Worn 50's tele and would like to know if those pickups are available from Fender as a stand alone set. They seemed open and airy to me with a nice bouncy bottom end and open midrange. I've heard of other manufacturers such as Lindy Fralin and Seymour Duncan but am not sure if I'd like their sound.

If someone could let me know which guitars the pickups found and the below links are installed in, I'd appreciate it. They are both reasonably priced and have received good reviews. Sometimes you need to actually hear them though. Thank you.

Have you tried adjusting the distance between the pickups and the strings? That's the first step you should take before swapping pickups.

+1

And a fresh set of your preferred brand of strings.
