Hello there,

I recently just bought a MIM telecaster and I love it. Both pickups have awesome bright tones but unfortunately, my bridge pickup is way too sensitive. It picks up everything and is extremely sensitive to finger slides. Since I bought this used, I am not exactly sure what pickups came in it, but i am guessing they are high output.

Does anybody have suggestions on new pickups that have nice bright tones without the extreme sensitivity. I still want to keep the twangy and bright tele sound, just with something less sensitive.

-Thanks!

Have you tried adjusting the pickup height?

I have an '04 MIM that had the Alnico V Hot Telecaster pickups. I think they sound close to what they are using now, pretty versatile and "Hot" If messing with the pickup height doesn't help you any, I may highly reccommend the Fender AVRI '62 Custom bridge pup. It is bright, very twangy, and it is low output. It has the copper base plate, the staggered D and G poles, and white thread wrap. Just a great pickup. If you like massive amounts of distortion, it might not be the pup for you, but it does take fuzz well. My MXR Phase 90 loves this pup. Classic Fender twang and it matches really great with the MIM neck pup, which I think is one of the best Tele neck pups out there.

I dropped a set of Lindy Fralin stock Tele pickups in my MIM Tele and it sounds like a million Buck Owenses. Really a vst improvement over the stock MIM Tele p/ups.
