Post subject: Shielding on a newly painted Strat

Do I need to shield the cavity on my strat? Is the shielding on the back of the pickguard enough? Also if I do shield tape the cav. do I need to solder all the tape seems? Sorry for all the questions just new to building a guitar from scratch.

No, you don't. Yes, it is. Instead of soldering the tape to other pieces of tape, you can overlap the pieces and poke a few pinholes in them which will achieve the same purpose. Don't apologize, that's how we all learn.
