If your American Standard has single coil pickups in it, you will experience noise. If it has humbuckers, the noise will be much less.

In either case, shielding is useless.

Why !?
In fact, does the "hum" will be much strong than now ? Will it just change something when the switch is down or not ?

First off, your guitar has shielding paint so adding more shielding would be redundant. Secondly, the biggest 'antennas' for noise are your pickups' polepieces which don't get shielded.

With the switch down, you are putting two single coils in series thereby doubling their power which shall double their hum.

Even if I put one wire from my pickup to the ground (and to the Faraday cage) ?
