Hi, couple days ago i realized that the 150TRs have been discontinued! This is my favorite string set and i've tried many other 10-38 sets (Fender 3150TR bullets, Dean Markleys F150s etc).

I used to buy them by dozens (literally) but i've just used my last set.

Is there a specific reason for being discontinued? The .010, .013 and .026 strings comes from the 150R (10-46) set so they are still being produced. The .015 string also is still being produced because it's part of the 150XL (9-40) set. The .032 string also is still on production, it's part of the 150L set and so is the .038 which is part of the 150M set.

The way i see it is that the 150TRs didn't have a separate line of production except from the different packaging.

So why don't you just pack all these strings in one set and make me happy again? ;)

Thanks.

Nick

Welcome Nick.

The overwhelming majority of players who use hybrid sets prefer to start with a lighter gauge string trio and end with a heavier gauge string trio. Even so, we're talking a one gauge difference. Evidently, not only do you prefer a "reverse hybrid" set but a two gauge jump at that. Now from what I've seen over four decades, the numbers in terms of popularity for your type sets are just not there. Rather, they are extremely rare. Consequently and on a corporate level, this turns into a "loss leader" where such things will inevitably be dropped from their offerings.

I know what you are going through I used 10 - 38 for years loved them. The stuff you could with those strings best strings for guitar gymnastics . You could tear the neck to pieces and blow minds. I am so pissed at fender here is a video of the last gig I did with fender 10 to 38s.
