If you had two of the same pickups and wired them like a humbucker, would the humbucker produce a louder sound of the original pickups sound since the specs are all the same?

What do you mean "wired them like a humbucker"? Just wiring two pickups together does not a humbucker make.

Two single coil pickups wired in series (like a Humbucker) will sound louder than one single coil on its own regardless of their individual spec.

Hope this helps

Andy

Yes it will sound louder, but will the sound be the same tone wise?

There is no answer to that because there are thousands of humbucker types/brands and they don't sound all alike.

I have done the mod of putting bridge+middle in series and middle+neck in series with a push/pull volume and yes, it sounds almost 25% louder and of course a lot fatter than the classic parallel connection of the 2 & 4 positions of the blade switch.
Did it sound like a humbucker? Well I guess there must be a humbucker that sounds like my arrangement but who can tell which one it is... If you're aiming to do this and sound just like a particular humbucker then....good luck...

Basically, yes. However, high end will decrease and midrange/bass will increase.

For it to be an outright HB, one coil must be RW/RP to the other.
