Hello. As the title states, I'm replacing my Jazz pickup on my MIM P-Bass Special and want to know if this is possible to take an N3 noiseless Jazz pickup from a MIA P-Bass Deluxe. My bass is passive but the MIA bass is a 2010 that is active and I believe they come with a switch for the passive/active option. It's my assumption that the N3 is a passive pickup and that the electronics on the bass are the "active" portion, so in theory, there should be no problem. Does anyone have experience with this or know if this will work?

thanks.

Welcome.

Your assumption is correct. The only possible glitch you MAY have is the physical size of the pickup cavity. I've seen many an imported Fender bass where the pickup cutout had to be enlarged to accept an American pickup. Note that this is NOT an absolute but it is common. Also of note is the fact that the American Fender pickups are usually out of phase with Fender imported pickups so be prepared to take appropriate action here too.

Thanks for the response. The pickup just arrived today. I swapped them out and all is well. The N3 jazz was just a bit taller than the stock pickup so I took out the majority of the foam padding to lower the pickup a bit and it fit right into the slot.

You're welcome. "All's well that ends well!"
