Hey i was wondering, why doesn't fender ever put out Pre-Loaded Pickguards? I think they could make a bit of money seeing how its easy for guitarists(who have no clue of how to read a wiring chart), i believe (IMHO) it would be bought buy tons of aspiring guitarists who are looking to mod their guitar. any takes on this idea?

Because they make more money selling all the parts individually.

Elementary, my dear Watson.

ehh, you are right on that one, But if they could sell them in packages, couldn't they sell them for the combined price? I mean think about it, who wants to pay 200 dollars for a pickguard, pickups, electronics seperated apart(assembly required) or pay 200-230 for it already put together(by a professional?) Me honestly, i'd pay for the loaded pickguard cause if something is wrong with it, its not your fault, you can return it. You solder the wrong wire or melt something, its your fault and you ain't getting your money back and they won't fix it, unless you cough up more money.

Have you ever heard this expression when a discussion of corporate luncheons arises?

"If you don't have a seat at the table it's because you're on the menu."

Put yourself in the shoes of a company honcho......we're all "on that menu".

They're easily enough to assemble -- and many of the common wiring diagrams can be found in the "support" section of this website. You can find additional info on the internet and there are always bargains to be found on Ebay as far as parts go.

yeah true, i just think it would open a more broad view/market to guitarists who aren't quite adept at soldering.

There are some Ebay vendors who cater to this clientele. I can't speak to their quality as I've never actually used their products but they've been around for quite some time. Which must mean something.

There are plenty of good ideas that the company declines to act on for one reason or another. For good or bad, such are the complexities of the corporate mentality.
