Hi,

I'm trying to install a new volume 250k pot and two tbx tone control pots on a beat up strat I inherited from a friend because the current electronics have gone sour. I'm a bit confused as to why my current set up doesn't use a capacitor on the volume pot, can someone explain or show me how to wire up the capacitor to the volume pot. I hear it's so my treble frequencies don't get cut out as I drop the volume.

Much Appreciated,

Welcome.

IMO, installing this circuit is a complete waste of time as it will make the taper of your volume pot erratic and increase the treble in the circuit as you dial down on the volume. YMMV.

Notwithstanding, here's your diagram:

Usually the cap goes on the tone pot. I have used only 1 TBX on the bridge and it has a detent in the middle to "off" the tone pot for more signal and it works OK with a 5e3. The TBX helps take off some very harsh highs on the fly when I drive the amp with the bridge pickup.
