I really like the looks and quality of the Fender Premium Gold Instrument Cable. The cable I'm most attracted to is the one markets as Bass Instrument Cable. Would there be any adverse effects using this on a standard electric? Thanks in advance!! :D

I had no idea there was a difference. With electric guitar instrument cables the idea is to get one with low noise and low resistance. I'm not sure about the Electric Bass guitar.

yep... that's the position I'm in. Logic tells me that if the plug fits it should work with no difference to the ear as we're talking about frequency responses and conductive/shielding materials. but I'm still just a guitar player and not a sound engineer so I need the straight scoop. either way that is one pretty instrument cable... gives me wet dreams! but then again, the word "guitar" makes my heart palpitate

My Mrs brought me the Platinum 10ft for BASS for Christmas, its a fancy nice lead but as for sound difference ....... :? It came in a nice presentation box !!!
They do one specifically for Guitar, Bass an Acoustic guitar, apart from the cable being different colors i cant comment on there being any difference as i only have the bass one but having a quality lead is never a bad thing, i use it on bass an guitar. :D

(well at least i no what to ask for my birthday now  )

Another option would be to BYOC (build your own cable).

Recipe:
2 Nutrik Plugs (very high quality with clamp for strain relief) about $3.75 ea.
1 Mogami low noise high quality instrument cable ($.99) per foot.

Solder togeather both components plugs and cable,
Attach strain relief clams,
Apply shrink wrap at 190 degrees for 5 seconds, or 5 degrees for 2 hours.
