So I'm thinking of buying a set of JM pickups from a fellow over at the Gear Page... I'm told they're AVRI pups which have been rewound by Lindy Fralin. Now. obviously I'm not so sure about that second part but he's offering me a pretty good price so I might jump on it anyway as I've been looking for a new set. Looking at them though I'm not sure that they're AVRI (they seem to be wound a little high and tight?) so I thought I'd take it to the experts. I'm sure its hard to identify pickups just by looking at a couple photos but if anyone wants to give it a shot I'd really appreciate it.

Anyway you can take a look at them here:

Unfortunately, Jazzmaster pickups are "all over the map" in terms of how they were made moreso than any other Fender pickup. Consequently, this is one of those situations where you have to go with your gut on or, you could always shoot Lindy an e-mail as I'm positive he could identify whether it is his work or not.

Yeah, I decided to opt out... Went with an AVRI neck pickups and a Seymour Duncan Vintage bridge.
