Hello fellow guitar fanatics,

If you don't want to read the intro, skip to 'My question'!

I've been doing some research on pickups lately (for a Strat). I fell in love with these mysterious 'Big Dippers'. However, they are not for sale of course. (I know they're here for quite some time now, I'm not that long into guitars. Just starting and I loooove it!)

I've heard some '69 pickups in a CS Strat at my local store. I don't know what the exact model was other then it being a CS. The guy then talked about the '69 saying they sound so "amazing". I have to admit, they did actually.

My question
Does anyone have experience with '69 and Big Dipper pickups in person? If so, what are your thoughts about the two? Do they come close to each other?

To my ear, the Big Dippers are merely a weaker version of the 69s. YMMV.

Hello good people!! My question is if I install '69 pickups in my '07 Highway 1 would the greasebucket circuit need to be removed or leave it alone? Would it affect the tone in a negetive way? Thanks for any replies or suggestions.

Greetings Isaac!

The Greasebucket circuit would NOT have to be removed. Further, you may like it with the 69s. If not, you could always remove it in favor of the original circuit the 69s were designed around.
