Post subject: Clapton mid boost treble spike

I've had my cmbk fitted to my strat with cs69s it sound good . I've noticed there's a treble spike wen the boost is turned right down or full up is ther a reason for that ?

The CS69s are by design, trebly, midrange dipped pickups. Keeping this in mind, any parametric EQ such as the Clapton type only boosts certain predetermined frequencies in a circuit at predetermined intervals. Consequently, as you dial down or up, the masking midrange frequencies are attenuated where you get your natural highs coming through again.

Not at all as it is irrelevant in this context. The only drawback with using true single coils here is that when you crank up the boost, the 60 cycle hum cranks right up along with it.

The hum is actually not that bad ! But not tryd it under gig conditions yet .

I wouldn't worry about it at all. Once the entire band starts playing, no one is going to hear it.
