Well, I put in Fender 150JL size 12 for a bit now and so far I'm not crazy about them. It's not terrible but in all I am not sure about the wound G.

After years and years of going back and forth between different brands and types of strings I have finally narrowed down my string inventory to two basics..I use Fender "pure nickel" 150's (10-46) and GHS Burnished Nickel (9-42, 10-46 and a mix of same with heavier bottoms for archtops)....no issues.
Then again, I tend to like a warmer sound most of the time than what some folks like...for bite and crunch GHS Boomers are a cheap and consistent choice..and hold up pretty well, too...and they are CHEAP!

EXL115w's on all my guitars. I love D'Addario's especially considering the price when you buy in bulk. A wound 3rd string makes me :D
