Would love to get my hands on 65 custom pick ups..... any one know if Fender may sell these in the future?

Does anyone have suggestions on other non-fender sources of pick ups that will give me that sound?

THX

I'd go for the Fender Custom Shop 60's...

The pickups in 1965 and 1966 Strats were unique to those years. They used grey bottom bobbins and .026 plain enamel wire. From 1967 -1970, CBS used .027 plain enamel wire. The pickups were wound anywhere from 4.8 to 6.2 Ohms. But being that the earlier wire was thicker gauge at .026, there were a few hundred less turns on the pickups to achieve the same resistance. They are built with AlNiCo 5 magnets.
This wire is kind of rare and only comes in huge spools, so not many pickup builders have it. as Far as I now, only Fender and 2 other guys have some.

Hmm Interesting. Pickups are some cool type of thing..they pickup the plucks and belt it thru that cone speaker thingy... with clear brilliancy :D
