I just bought a set of used Tex-Mex pups and I need to know which one is which. As some of you know the colors are red, yellow, and white. Looking at the hot and ground wires coming off of each pickup I think the red lead is the middle-correct or not? If correct then which one is the neck and which one is the bridge?
Thanks

The length of the lead-in wires should provide some clue as to which pickup is located where. That with the longest set of leads is probably the neck pickup, while the shortest leads likely belong to the bridge pickup.

I tried that idea. Both the white and yellow leads are the same length. :?

IIRC, white is neck, yellow is middle and red is bridge.

Actually, I believe the Red is middle and the Yellow is bridge.

But you got the White one right...

I did some research for you: The neck is white, the middle is red, the bridge is yellow.

Thanks to all for the help.

I know some people don't like these pups but I love'em. :D

My Strat they're in has an on/off toggle switch in place of the bottom tone pot so I can switch between the normal 5 way positions and neck/bridge and neck/middle/bridge. 8)

I had a set in one of my Strats a few years ago. I enjoyed them.

Your setup with the switch is common, believe it or not. The more sounds you can get out of the pickups, the merrier!

Enjoy!!
