Welcome.

Yes but if you intend on having all the options that stock guitars come with which have the S-1 switch, there is a lot more involved than just that switch. There is a special pickup selector switch called a, "Super Switch" and the wiring is infinitely more complex that what is in your Strat now. Further, your pickups are non-humbucking. Using this system will ramp up the 60 cycle hum in several positions.

+1

However, the full-tilt S-1 system works well with DiMarzio noiseless "Area" pickups since they can use the same 250k pots. And they sound mighty sweet, slaved together in some of the standard series-wired S-1 configurations.

If you want the full selectability of the Am Dlx Strats, then you would need the Super Switch.

However, if you use the CS 69, you will not be able to make the pickups run in Series and Parallel. The CS 69's are single coil pups, while the SCN's, N3, Area, and Tone Zones are basically dual coil stacked pickup.

And finally, the 'special' tone cap is just a crappy ceramic 503z cap that translates to 0.05 uf -20%/+80% tolerance that is ran in parallel with the stock 0.022 +/-10% cap. That would put the calculated capacitance somewhere between 0.06uf and 0.114uf when the 503z cap is engaged. BTW, I replaced my cap with a higher quality cap and it improved the tone.

However, you would not get any more noise with the CS69 because there's only one ground lead from the pups. If you tried to split the ground from the back of the pots AND to the switch, then you would make a ground loop, that would produce more noise.

So.... to answer your question...

The only option you would have with the CS69 and the S-1 switch is the ability to add a capacitor parallel to the circuit when it is engaged.

Hope this helps (probably more confusing than helpful).

For your wiring diagram, go to the above icon, "Support" and click on it. From there, click on, "Wiring Diagrams, once there, scroll down to "Am Dlx Strat" and select the second "yes" icon from the left.

If I'm interpreting what you are saying correctly, that third cable in the diagram is merely an additional ground (earth) wire.
