I'm trying to replace the pickguard on my 2005 MIM Jazz V (passive, NOT deluxe/active) with a tortoiseshell one.

The current stock one is 10-hole with no notch for the truss rod.

I can't find anyone (even Fender.com) that lists a pickguard SPECIFICALLY for this bass. All I can find is the Standard Jazz (4-string), or Standard Jazz V WITH notch for truss rod, or ACTIVE Standard Jazz V.

Will either the 4-string pickguard or Active Jazz V work (I don't want the truss rod notch)?

Has anyone replaced the pickguard on their Standard Jazz V successfully without needing modifications?

If so, where did you get it?

Thanks!

I just found some information that appears to answer my posted question....

I'm posting what I found as a reference for others who may search this forum for the same info.

On Music123 / Musician's Friend they list a new product that should fit:

Item # 364898
Fender J Bass V Pick Guard (Shell)

Tortoise shell, 4-ply, 10-hole, 5-string Jazz Bass pickguard. Fits American Series and American Standard Jazz Bass V (USA), and Standard V and Deluxe Series Active Jazz Bass V (Mexico).

This is OEM Fender!

Seems that there is commonality with the American Series, American Standard, MIM Deluxe Series Active, and MIM Standard Jazz V pickguards.

Hope this helps other Jazz V owners out there.
