well im a big fan of partsocasters and i have built one already but i need something with a little more punch. i want a single humbucker one volume and one tone. i like the sound of semi hot vintage humbuckers to 80's humbuckers, the hotest loudest stuff i play is like van healan but i also play lots of blues and classic rock . so what im saying i would like a all around humbucker so i need some ideas i was thinking tone zone??? also what cap should i get material and value . (and for those of you who disagree on capacitor material difrence check youtube) one more thing the guitar will be alder with maple neck. thanks

Welcome!

For your requirements, I think the Tone Zone would be rather muddy. There really is no appreciable high end with this pickup.

Based on your requirements, I'd use a Duncan JB (spaced as required) with 250K volume and tone pots as these are the pot values the JB was originally designed around. The cap would be a .05mf or even possibly, a .1mf. Personally, I'd go with a .05mf (or .047mf as available); no material preference. YMMV.
