Hi. I've been testing some cables that I have lately. I had Proel, Monster, Planet Waves cables and one Fender Vintage Voltage.

For many years I believed that I need to have these high tech cables to sound good but I found that my 18ft Fender VV cables just sounds best with my setup. I had this cable few years. Gigged with it many times and never had single problem. IT was my longest cable that I have so It was best for gigs.

Few days ago I ordered few VV cables. Everything seemed fine until I went high gain. There is lot of pops/scratchy sounds when you move or shake the cable. It's only cable problem. I don't find it on my other cables or that one heavily used 18ft that I had earlier. Also I have few amps and guitars so I can exclude guitar or amp or even grounding problem.

Does anybody noticed it? I like the cables look and fact that they doesn't cut anything in my sound like my other cables does. Is it normal for these cables or I just got some bad ones? I found that out of 4 new cables one is completely free from this. Two has slight pops/scrathes and one is more scratchy than other cables. Still it's not loud problem. I found these cables more stiff than this one I bought few years ago so maybe they just need to break in.

Another thing that there is no signal quality loos or ground loos when you shake these cables. They just slightly pops in high gain situation. When guitar volume is on 0 there is no pops.

Thanks ;)

I have one that I don't have any issues with.

I'd use the one-year limited warranty on your latest purchase. Good luck!
