This may sound like a dumb question, but I bought a used set of Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups and I don't know how to tell which pickup is the bridge, middle, or neck. How do I tell the difference?

The middle pickup is reverse-wound with reverse polarity -- the leads will be yellow and black.

As for determining the bridge and neck, you'll need a DVM to measure the DCR of each coil. The pickup with the higher resistance will be the bridge pickup.

Best of luck, HTH

the bridge should (might) have a red dot on the B pole (underside) and the neck a blue dot.

If you don't have that or a ohm meter, the wire length can be an indicator, if the other guy cut them.

Bridge 6.2 KΩ

Neck 6.0 KΩ

(APX.)
