hi, I have been looking for some new pickups but I'm not sure which ones are good. I mostly play rock and a little bit of metal. I have been looking for pickups that will give me a 60's sound or something like a David Gilmour kind of sound.

any help is appreciated.

thanks.

by the way I have been looking at seymour duncan ssl-5 single coilfor the bridge, seymour duncan five-two reverse wound single coil for the middle and Fender Vintage Noiseless Strat Neck/Middle Pickup for the neck pickup. are these pickups any good for what I want?

emg has the gilmore stuff try those. all those pups in one guitar would be unbalanced. it would be a little louder in one position too quiet(less power) in another. calibrated sets work better. older gilmore sound would be duncan ssl-1. modern would be emg single coil(actualy noiseless).the emg is way more powerful.good luck.

the kicker is the custom wound middle. probably hard to get that one. i would be willing to bet that those pups are in some way callibrated to a cuirtain spec. a '50s silgle coil by it's self would be hard to come by as well. gilmore has always been a tough one to nail down. but tone chasing is fun an't it.

yeah, I found the neck pickups but the fat 50's only come in 3, might be able to find a single one on ebay but the middle pickup is impossible to find unless some one bought the black strat but took the pickups out and is going to be selling them, not likely.
