I could pass on the oppertunity so i got it. Im modding it for blues and figured i should start w/ the pickups. Im looking in to $100.00 or less for a set of single coils so plz help me out :)

Its spelled S-Q-U-I-E-R!

Check ebay or the used market as I don't know if you'll be able to find any decent set of new strat pickups for $100.

It would be a good idea to shield it, too. That way you get the SC sound without the buzz.

I agree with bowlfreshener. I think it's going to be hard to get an original set of pups for under $100.

Also, be careful of second hands. I got ripped off on e-bay with a guy (company) selling Fender pickguards fitted with Fender pickups and custom wiring. Sure it was Fender...it was the Affinity Squier setup! No difference! So I ended up replaceing my Squier Affinity pickups with Squier Affinity pickups. :(

Good luck,
Charles

$100.00 or less might be hard to do. I have seen Texas Specials recently on ebay go for about 130 - 140 (I now have a set on my desk waiting to be installed).
They are a great blues pickup, pending the style of blues you would like to start playing. Happy hunting on Ebay.
