The situation:

Wymore guitars is having a going out of business sale and I looked at it as a great opportunity to purchase some Duncan Antiquity pups without breaking the bank (They're giving 30% off everything remaining in stock). Anyhow, I bought the only two they had left, one surfer and one texas hot. The thing is, they have opposite magnetic polarities (The surfer is south, the texas hot is north). I also bought a texas hot custom bridge off another site to complete the set. My question is how do I wire them in, is it just a simple matter of reversing the hot an lead on the surfer or is it a more complicated than that?

Three pickups so I assume Strat.

Take a compass the them. Which ever is the odd ball (polarity) install in the middle. Then that will be RW/RP with the two others, giving hum cancel in 2 and 4

If the compass points north, then the magnet is SOUTH polarity.

Use a test lead to connect that middle pickup (which is the RP) to the switch and play the guitar. In position 2 and 4 if it sounds thin and weak it is out of phase with it's mates so now reversing the leads will get it right and you can solder away.

If it is only out of phase in position 2 (bridge and middle) and IN PHASE in position 4 (Neck and Middle) then reverse the wires of the BRIDGE ONLY, so you don't screw it up with the neck.

vise versa for 4 and 2

Simply reverse the leads as appropriate until each is in phase with the other. Certain pairings may become humbucking too as a result.

Only if connected in series, or do you mean noise cancel because of the RW/RP ?

They can be connected in series or parallel and of course, I mean if the winding too is reverse to that of the other pickup.

Well, according to Seymour's site, they should all be the same winding direction, it's just the polarity that changes. So assuming that, putting the surfer in the middle and reversing the leads should just make it RW/RP relative to the other two from what you gentlemen have been telling me. We'll see if it works when they get here, the custom bridge was backordered so now I have to wait 2-3 weeks (Which is annoying, they should have told me that before I paid for it >_>). Perhaps I'll just see if anybody else has it in stock, because I hate waiting seeing that the other two pups have already shipped and should be here in a matter of days >___>

Well I being impatient canceled my order with guitarelectronics.com (Who were very nice and understanding and already sent me a refund) and ordered off another SD dealer, Darren Riley's guitar shop, so I should have the bridge PU by the end of the week hopefully. I also took the opportunity to order a gold anodized backplate to match my pickguard ^^

The neck and middle pups arrived today, I would have pics but my camera's acting funny >_> They were nice enough to write the DC Resistance on the tag, the neck PU is 6.5k and the middle PU is 6.45k. I wonder how different they will sound because the neck has an A2 magnet while the middle has an A5. The tag also has Seymour's signature in pen on it (kinda cool). Anyhow, my next post I'll let you guys know how it worked out, I might try and get some sound clips of the 57/62s vs. the Antiquities on this thread to make it more interesting ^^
