I've been looking into getting new pickups on my jag-stang and have been seeking recommendations on which pickups may work best with this guitar.

I'm a proud Jag-Stang(tm) owner and replaced my bridge pickup long ago with a Seymour Duncan "Pearly Gates" from Fender. Because of the unusual angle of the pickup I'd recommend looking for a humbucker with "trem-bucker" spacing to give a wider spacing between the polepieces for better coverage across all strings.

For the neck, I'm very satisfied with the original. If you want to experiment, ask around and get a lot of different opinions. There's a single-coil traditional Strat(R) pickup to fit pretty much any taste.

Enjoy!

I have been looking at the pearly gates pickup for the bridge, and the neck I will probably leave the same, but I did find another pickup I thought would be interesting to use. Does anyone have any feedback on the seymour duncan hot rails pickups?

I used to have one in the bridge position on my old strat. This pickup had a ton more volume and sensitivity than the stock SC. I liked the sound a lot, but when I switched back to my SCs I wanted to go right back to the humbucker. It has a great addictive and crunchy sound

That sounds about what I am looking for. I don't know if the guitar has an issue with the wiring but I have noticed there's not much coming out in terms of output. Thanks for the feedback!
