ARG!
I recetnly bought a Strat Body. (The seller swore it was a legit Fender, but who knows) I bought a Wilkinson 6-hole tremolo bridge for it and low and behold the 6-holes do not line up with the body. The Wilinson has 56mm between top and bottom mounting hole and the Strat Body has about 52mm. Dispite my Googling, I can find nothing on a 6-hole tremolo with specs smaller than 56mm holes. Can anyone help me identify a tremolo that would fit? I'd rather not redrill the body and simply want a tremolo that fits the original specs.

Thanks for any help on this.

I checked a few sites I know about and found that most of them do not even list that measurement. I would suggest emailing as many of the parts places as you can and ask them if they carry such a trem.

I tried many suppliers without much sucess. I was hoping to go straight to the horses mouth and thinking this was a Fender site, that someone with Fender or a Fender Guru would know if Fender had a tremolo with this smalller spec. Since I can not seem to find any replacement with the smaller holes, I'm starting to belive that either the body was modified ( although it does not appear so from the Tobacco sunburst finish job) or that it is some knock off body that had a custom tremolo.

I put a fender lead II neck on it and Texas special pickups and I'm really eageer to get it fired up.

OK, Found it. For those interested, and since I spent 4 days searching and probably will get fired for surfing at work. The spec is for a Mexican Standard Stratocaster. The String Spread is 2 1/16" (52.5mm)

Now finding a Tremolo in Chrome with that standard was hard but Ebay came through! $54. On my way!
