From years of being a guitar player and tech, I have accumulated quite an array of pickups. I am not sure of the best way to store them.
My question is this; If I store my loose pickups, say, in a drawer together, and the magnets attract them together, does it affect the magnetic properties of the pickups?
Does the close proximity of them to each other affect the magnets, and therefore the sound?
Is the magnetism strength affected? Should I seperate them?
Some pickups I have mounted on old pickgaurds to store them, so they are stored apart, but others are stuck together magnetically.
So, who knows????

I seem to remember reading somewhere, I can't remember where, that storing magnets together will eventually affect them but it takes a very long time to do so. I'll have to try and find the article again. :?:

If there is any negative side effect wouldn't it happen to pickups installed in a guitar?

Those aren't stuck together or close enough to be an issue.

Protect the coils and insulate the magnets so that they cannot interact with anything metal or any other magnets. That's it.
