Is there a pickup that is in the middle between the texas specials and the '57/'62 pickups. I like the "attitude" of the texas specials but I also like the "sweetness" of the 57'/'62 pups. Is there a pickups I can get both sounds out of?

Here's a suggestion:

Why not try a Texas Special in the bridge and the 57/ 62's for the middle and neck. Hot and sweet all at the same time. Or vice versa!?

Anyone else? Let's get stratsarebest65 some tone suggestions!

i like the vintage noiseless. first off, they are noiseless. secondly, they respond to playing technique very well. if you throw alot of attack into your playing, they can have as much or more bite than the texas specials. if you play mellower, they can really sing sweetly. i highly recommend them.

but yeah, you might want to think of mixing some different pickups to get different sounds.

also, another idea is to maybe get a pickup custom made for you. or get an existing pickup rewound. you might wanna get a mellower pickup, and have some extra winds put on it.

just some ideas.
