Yep, that's the same as what ZZDoc pointed out in the GC specs for them.

Martians abduct an N3 pup!?! I'm looking forward to that!

:D

Actually, so am I. I just hope that construction wise, they are a lot better than their two predecessors.

The Hot Noiseless set i have sound great but were covered in wax from the potting (not the neatest job i've seen). What were the issues you found with the SCN's? I would have thought that considering the additional expense of Samarium Cobalt magnets they would have been looked after during the build process.

Actually, I was referring more to the Vintage and Hot Noiseless: Extremely sloppy with the wax; loose windings, poorly lined up components, leads hanging by a few threads, many DOA, etc; quite frail.

Thanks for the info!

Well, many players do like different pickups with different magnet strengths for different positions in their guitars. Couple this with their newest winding designs and hopefully, Fender will have a hit with these.

Yep, my FHN were not only covered in wax but, as you say above, not lined up too well with the pup cover. Shame (rekon i'm slightly down on loyalty points for this post.....looks like it will be a bit of a wait before Fender reward me with my Jeff beck sigy Strat!) Still, great sounding pups from a quallity Brand, and i'm sure the new N3 pickup will be made to the highest standard only found in Fender products (clawing a few points back here!)

Enjoy

Andy

Hey All -

Anyone else have an opinion of the new N3 pickups in the American Deluxe yet?

I had an opportunity to spend a while playing one side by side through my own rig, and in tandem with my Strat with SCN, and I honestly can't hear any tonal variances - i play through an entirely clean signal, with just a little noise suppression and some compression.

I'm disappointed in my experience (I was about to buy a set pulled from a new deluxe on ebay) and completely abandoned the idea.

Anyone else have a different (positive) experience with the new N3's?

Thanks!

tried the new n3 pickups the other day and to
my ears they had all same problems the scn's had
the neck was very muddy and the bridge brittle
the middle was allright but still just allright not anything to
write home about . it is a good idea but fender seems to
be a ways away from strat tone without hum the
n3's seem to be lacking in character just like the scn's
which i got rid of but thats just my ears
