Why do people put the bridge and pickup covers on their basses? Does it make it sound better or is it just for the vintage look? Thanks

well, actually anything that you add onto a guitar will change the sound slightly. especially adding something onto the bridge. but really, it probably is just for the looks. IMO, it makes the instrument less playable.

Personal preferences mostly. Some say the tone/sound is changed, some just like looks of them on the instrument.
