I just got a HSS loaded pickguard off of Ebay.
There are 4 wires that have to be hooked up 3 black 1 white.
1 black to spring claw
1 black to output jack
1 white to output jack
1 black to screw to bottom of bridge pocket?
All 3 black wires are soldered to the volume pot. 2 are connected to a wire that leads to the tone pot. The other black soldered to volume pot has wires that go to the pickups.
Which ones go where?

Welcome.

Obviously, ensure that the white wire is soldered to the proper terminal on the output jack.

It makes no difference which black wire you choose to solder to each of the three designations you have listed above. Rather, concern yourself with the lengths of each of these three black wires and choose by which will help you get the job done the easiest.

Thanks for the info and the tip about the wire length. The wire that goes to the bottom of the bridge pocket, I assume can go anywhere. That is screwed into wood? not attached to metal.

You're welcome.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "the bottom of the bridge pocket". On the body of your guitar, there should be a tab or ring screwed into the body somewhere in the cutout for the bridge pickup. This is what that wire gets soldered to.

See link for visualization of this tab:

If your guitar does not have this tab, (or a tell tale sign of where it used to be), then chances are your guitar was not OEM coated with shielding paint and this last wire is unnecessary in your particular guitar.

Thanks, my guitar does not have that tab you showed in the picture. I bought a body made by Mighty Mite ( I am building a strat type guitar ).The loaded pickguard has that wire that needs to be hooked up. It should not be a problem to make something work.

Here is a link to the wiring diagram I am looking at.

Number 17 is what I am refering to.

That's the one I'm referring to also.

If the Mighty Mite has a flat, very dark gray or black base coat, that is shielding paint so you would screw that wire into it. In in the event the aforementioned paint is clearly not there, disregard that last black wire.
