I was just wondering what kind of straps you all have. I have a bad back due to an injury and was wondering about the best strap for a lower back problem. I bought one of those planet wave gel attachments, and it seems to work okay.

Here's my list of straps:

One plain black that came with the guitar.

Badtz-Maru (well, didn't know it was for a bass guitar so it's a bit long. It does look like me without coffee though)

One with flames on it. It was made in Illinois and being an Illinois native, I got one. There used to be one with skull and crossbones, but I put that in an auction basket. The flames matches the guitar better though.

I'll post pics later.

So....good straps for bad backs suggestions? Or, just post your straps.

Here are my Straps:

Wider Straps distribute the weight better and are easier on the back.

I like regular leather ones--but I don't like them too thick--which most of them are these days--they don't mold to my shoulder as well--so I'm using some old ones, and also just started with a suede one for one of my guitars--I may switch over to suede.

I'm not picky about brand--I don't like a bunch of graphics on them.
I find the ones that you slide the strap through a buckle to set the length move on me.
I have one strap like that but I use it at full length for my bass, and it's the perfect length.

Each guitar has it's own strap as they are different sizes, shapes, and have the strap knobs in different places--so the straps need to be different lengths.

I use and make my own hemp guitar straps. They are kind of rought at first, but after you wear them in for a while they are like silk on you shoulder.

For a bad back, why don't you just sit and play like B.B.? Haha but I would definately suggest the widest strap for a bad back because then the pressure isn't on one certain spot on you shoulder or back.

Wider straps tend to distribute the weight of the guitar better, thats that I'd recommend. Then DiMarzio makes a cliplock strap that is made from a sort of elastic like material (instead of the normal seat belt like material) that may be less taxing on your back...

Well, I've tried alot of straps over the years but I can honestly say the most comfortable strap I've ever had by far is my Moody Leather strap. I've had it five years now and it's still as soft and supple as it was the day I bought it and it gets used almost daily. They're a little pricey but worth every penny in my opinion.
