I'll be meddling around inside my strat this weekend to change some circuits. I can't understand the wiring diagrams though, and thought maybe you could help me out.

What I want to do:

seven sound mod (push/pull on tone 1 turns on neck pup)

rewire tone 2 knob from middle to bridge pup

Thanks!

Please don't take this sarcastically: You might not want to be meddling inside your guitar if you can't understand wiring diagrams. You need to at least understand these diagrams (not schematics, mind you) for points of reference as there's no practical way for us to assist you or above all, for you to verify your wiring.

Hello!

This is the Perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of guitar wiring geekery! Having an understanding of *how* your guitar works electronically will benifit you greatly in the long term not only for the mods but for your playing as well.

There are loads of sites out there have helped me in the past. Try this one first. Its the "Stewmac free info on understanding guitar wiring" which is as good as any to start you off.

http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/i-4000.html

Also handy.....

......When I started out I had a test bed guitar that was given to me (a peavy rapture that was a complete mess and wasn't worth taking to a tech!). Its a bit of a luxury i know but you can pick up a old banger for your purposes pretty cheap considering the knowledge you stand to gain form having it. I used the peavy to cut my teeth with wiring, mods, set ups, nut replacements etc. My aim was to turn a piece of crap into a playable guitar. Its now the guitar I freely lend to my friends and collegues kids who want to start playing the electric guitar.

Of couse once they need a decent starter guitar of their own, I recommend the Fender Squire or Bullet starter kits. (surely another Fender loyality point here!) :D

Research your subject and reep the benifits!

Hope this helps

Let us know how you get on and Enjoy!

Andy
