I have a 1987 Fender Squier MIJ which has a deluxe neck that is at the least is just amazing, I know Squier is the low end of the totem pole. But I recently Purchased the Road House deluxe with the Texas Specials in it which is a MIM. The Squier has a better sound for some reason.
I woud like to know if it would be wise to change the pick ups in the Squier to maybe the Noiseles pick ups or just leave it original? The pick ups which are in it are hotter than the Texas Specials in the new Deluxe I have. I had a fiend who suggeste just to change amps to get the sound I want, which is a bluesy sound. I currently play through a Marshall Mg series 50dfx, I have the New Texas Bones pedal from radial but still cant get the fat tone sound I want,
Thanks

Mid 80's MIJ pups are fabulous!!! Try playing with pickup height to get that tone you are looking for.

My mid 80's MIJ Strats have the pickups adjust extremely low (almost even with the pickguard)

While sitting her I came up with a thought about the adjusting the height some I did this last month it got alot better as you said they was low. i use 9s, super slinky strings
If i changed them this would help with the beefier sound?
Thanks
