Hi guys
I own a fender Eric Clapton signature stratocaster and I love the comfortable neck and the nice bluesy sound but sometimes the midbooster circuit is a little annoying  !!!you can set the midbooster volume to zero but the midbooster will not be bypassed and will still be affecting your sound.so I thought maybe I could install a switch which will allow me to bypass the circuit whenever I want to but I donn't know whether it would be a wise decision and I'm looking for some suggestions and I would really appreciate any help from you guys!!!thx...

Welcome.

Actually and unfortunately in this situation, the guitar's circuitry was designed around that booster. Defeating it will have at the very least, your pickups sounding choked and weak, the volume pot's sweep being erratic and the battery will continue to drain as long as your guitar is plugged in). So, it's all or nothing.

You can wire in a tiny on/off switch between the output jack and the battery, then can turn off the mid boost.
I found a great web site when I was putting in my mid boost kit. He has instructions and pictures to put in an on/off switch.

Good luck.

Early Clapton Strats were equipped with that midboost bypass switch.

This feature, though useful for many purposes, was shortlived as Clapton prefers to turn off the Elite preamp by unplugging the cable from his guitar.

On the Sambora Strat the midboost bypass switch came in the form of a push-push button.

(Sorry for resurrecting an old thread.)
