After having replaced the OE pickups on my 01 Mex. Deluxe Strat to the Samarium Cobalt Noiseless, one last conversion would be to install the S1 switch system, which gives multiple pickup configurations.

Has any one done this conversion and were there any issues ?
any info is welcome...

Hello!

I have installed the S-1 Switch but not with the SCN,s. Follow the Fender deluxe upgrade diagram and you should be fine. The only trouble i had was gettin the solder to stick to the switch. I had to lightly file the S-1 contact/soilder points to get a good fix.

Hope this helps

Enjoy!

I have done ten (S-1/SCN) and one (S-1/Alanco) conversions on my strats. In addition to the S-1 volumn control/switch (the 250K version if you use all single pickups or the 500K version if you use singles and a humbucker) you will also need a 5-way 4-pole super switch. Don't forget you will also need a S-1 knob with the tip insert. The job is not that difficult if you take your time. I make a copy of the wiring diagram from the Fender support sight and mark each wire as it is installed. I personally like the different tone combinations this arrangement provides. Good luck with your mods.

Sounds like fun!

I recently acquired an NOS 1985 52 RI MIJ tele. Red with black pickguard.

I would like to do the same conversion. Can anyone help me with where to shop for the kit, and possibly those wonderful cobalt noiseless pickups? By the way, this guitar is amazzing!! Have played lotsa Nocasters and this is just as peachy.

Thanks for any direction in advance,

Howdy!

For the S-1 switch try http://www.darrenriley.com

Not too sure who still stocks the SNC's, but I have seen reasonably priced sets on ebay. The rest of the parts can be sourced form WD Music.

You'll need the Super 5 Way Switch if your looking to wire your Strat like the Dlx models.

Its possible to get plenty of different pickup combos using an S-1 Switch and a Super 5 Way! Feel free to experiment! :D

Hope this helps.
