Hi,

I'm taking the S1 out of my strat which has the SCN pickups and was wondering what to do with the black wire. White / Yellow / Red leads are hot and Green goes to ground, but what about the black wires? Do they go to ground?

Thanks,
Andrew

Black wires are ground too.

BTW, I have SCN's too. I found that using a good PIO 0.047uf cap REALLY improved the tone of these pups. Also, I ended up putting my S-1 switch back on and replacing that tiny cap on the switch w/ a decent cap.

That tiny 'special' capcitor in the S-1 switch is a:
iC 503Z cap

This is a REALLY cheap cap. It's basically a 0.05uf cap w/ a designed tolerance of +80% / -20%. This cap can be anywhere between 0.09uf to 0.04uf at eny given time. I replaced my cap and it actually made the S-1 switch useful.

Good luck.
