Ok, well I dropped the humbucker about an 1/8th of an inch. It didn't get rid of the warble sound, but I get alot better tone out of it(sounds like an old school Geroge Lynch Charvel). I'll try getting a new set of strings tomorrow. Thanks........

You're welcome but don't forget to try your other two pickups too AND arranging the flux pattern.

How to synchronize your magnetic flux: Lay the guitar flat on its back and with both hands, gently press down on all 6 strings until each string barely touches all of it's respective magnets and/or polepieces. This must be done with all three pickups simultaneously. Wait a second and then, slowly start relieving your hands pressure until the strings have been restored to their original position. Do this with every string change.

It actually does happen with all 3 pickups. Its just more noticable with the humbucker.

I bought a new set of strings but haven't had a chance to put them on yet. Before I do so I will try synchrynizing the magnetic flux. I've never even heard of doing this. But I'll give it a shot.

If all else fails, I guess I'll have no choice but to take it in. I'm also having some issues with a fret buzz that I can't get rid of. I think I can only do so much on my own. I find myself working on it more than playing it sometimes.

Thanks again

You're welcome and it is a wise choice when you feel that you're over your head, instead of going off in a wrong direction, to bring it to a specialist. Be careful with your choice of tech though, there are WAY too many hacks out there. I personally think this is why so many players (and not just here) have such contempt for techs. They've never experienced a genuinely competent one. Rather, only the opposite which is a damn shame.

Too true, It is a shame,

I am lucky and have been blessed when it comes to guitar techs and thought i'd share my experience of one particular Tech.

I brough a brand new Godin Exit 22 online, it was a complete bargain. But it arrived in bad shape and in need of a professional setup. The neck had sharp fret ends and was seriously bowed, all way beyond my skill level to even consider having a go. This particular tech took great pleasure in not letting me say anything until he'd plugged in. He had a quick go and then made a scarily acurate diagnosis, gave me a breif run down on how and where the guitar was most probably manufactured, how to maintain the fret board and body, along with its prospective value. He then asked if I had any questions!

It gets better...

He then quoted me £36!, this included a set of Addario 10's!.

Even though he said he was very busy (and judging buy the amount labled cases neatly line up he clearly was, and this is a good thing as a good tech should be busy!) and it would take 4-5 days he called me at 4pm the next day to say it was ready for pickup.

*The fret work was excellent and I have never achieved action as low and free of buzz as He has on that guitar. Overall its outstanding*

Needless to say I was extremely impressed and gave him £40 but would have gladly paid twice that for the service I recived. I will always take a guitar that i haven't made to a professional (a busy one!).

Enjoy

Andy

I'm really elated to hear of experiences like this.

This should be the start of its own thread: "A Great Tech I Know"

Martian,I never hear about this ;synchronize magnetic flux. And I read lots of stuff since many years

Where do you read that ?

Thank's for answering.

I didn't read it. As a matter of fact, I doubt very strongly this information would be floating around in cyberspace somewhere. Moreover, I'd be outright astonished if it ever appeared in some, "how to" book on electric guitar servicing. This knowledge (and please don't take this as pompous on my part) is basic to the principles of magnetic pickups and their interactive functions. I've been professionally involved in this field and virtually all technical guitar related disciplines for over 40 years now so such things, based on absolute principles of applicable physics is merely a 'given' to me.
