I have some year 2004 fender guitars that shipped with chrome F tuners with chrome hexagonal keys.

unfortuantly the capstan on these chrome key F tuners was about 2mm taller than they should have been and changes the angle of the strings:

I ordered replacement year 2009 white plastic key F tuners and the capstan was the correct length and sits flush as it should. the following headstock picture illustrates the comparison:

now since this picture was taken, i saw a reissue 74 japanese telecaster in person with CHROME key F tuners, with the correct capstan length, that fit just like the white ones in the picture.

So my question is:

- Can i order replacement CHROME key F tuners that have the correct capstan length just like the white ones pictured, and what is the part number?

- will they def be the correct length or is there meant to be a variation between the two - like for a thicker headstock?
