What does everybody think of this pedal? How does it compare with Fender's spring reverb? Is it a collaboration between Fender and Boss? How good does it sound? Is it better than the EH Holy Grail? Thanks for the input!

I run this pedal through my Champ 600 to give me more options. The gain is good, the EQ varied, the trem is to die for..........the reverb sucks hole big time!!

For some reason beyond anyone they programmed random pings in there as though you were using a real spring reverb but it sounds more like you have an old reverb unit and it's sitting inside the bass drum!!

The pings dont even happen with your timing. Like I said its random and ugly

Everything else the pedal is supposed to do it does them perfectly and gives me more options when at home with my Champ.

Reverb is it's downfall. Buy one AND the Grail.

Thanks. I'm looking for something to round out my amp in a addition to the Boss DD-7 Delay I'm getting soon. I've had the real deal in a '70's Fender Twin, so I know what it's supposed to sound like. The reviews I've read on the Holy Grail are mixed. Very positive or very negative. Any other suggestions? I might try the Grail. It's 85 bucks at my local GC. They're phasing out the old one with a smaller, lighter version that costs $118. I can afford $85 if it's a keeper.

I wasn't real nuts about the Deluxe Reverb pedal-The Holy Grail does a very nice job on reverb, but look for a used one-Should be able to score one for around $50.00. A DD7 will give you a nice trail in the analog or modulation settings also.

I've had mine for a few years now.

I originally bought it to plug in front of my Epi Valve Jr, to give the amp a little reverb and tone control.

After a while, I decided that the Epi VJ was too much of a one trick pony, so I sold it.

The FDR pedal is okay. I thought the best part of it was the reverb. Sounds just like an old reverb (spring pops and all). The tone was nothing to write home about. And the Boss FDR is not a bypass pedal.

I think there are much better pedals out there for the same money, unless you want both gain, tone and reverb control all in one box.

I'm considering the Boss DD7. Delay might be all I need instead of full on reverb. I like the looping effect too. Thanks for all the advice everybody.
