Hi everybody. I have a Sienna Sunburst guitar and am thinking I want a black pickguard. I'll keep the knobs and pup covers white. I don't see any done like this. Some I've seen have the pearl white pickguard. I like that too. What are your opinions? Does anybody have a Sienna Sunburst with a black pickguard? I've seen a mock-up of one on this forum, but not the real deal.

Some have talked about problems with after market guards warping and that leaves slots open for picks to slip inside, so make sure it's an exact fit.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Mike. Whatever I decide it will be genuine Fender parts.

Yep. That's as close as I could conceive of it as well. Looks good to me. I wonder why there aren't more done like that. I'm gonna order a black pickguard. I'll be sure to post pics when I get it done.

Well, I'm sure you all have been holding your breath on this one (ha ha). Time to exhale. The black pickguard has arrived!

Has anybody changed the guard without taking off the strings? I just put a new set on last week so I'd rather not change them. I'm thinking I can put something under the strings on the fretboard near the neck heal to keep them elevated while I make the pickguard change. This is possible, right?

Okay. Done. Easy enough. Hard for me to get good photos on my camera. Maybe it's me. Anyhow, love how it came out. I've never in my life owned a guitar with a pickguard other than black. It's a nod to SRV sort of I guess too. Opinions?

A friend of mine owns a Sienna Sunburst MIA strat. The way to go with that is to get the pearl pickguard and switch the chrome hardware with gold (which is what he has).

It just goes with the color perfectly in my opinion.

HI....Personally I like the vintage cream pearloid (the one with less yellow hues).....BUT I do understand the need to contrast the sunburst...too much sun going on...I'm with you....but for me it's the vintage cream pearloid....Take Care
