Hi,
I am going to buy a set of cs 54's and cs 69's. But, I need a RWRP middle pickup for hum cancelling in position 2, 4 (there are certain occasions when this is needed. Damn flourecent lights...). Does anyone have an advice on what type of pickup that would go well together with the sets I am going to buy?

These pickups are relly good, I think it's a shame that Fender doesen't offer a set with RWRP. Even though these pickups of course are meant to be made like in their time, the RWRP doesen't affect the sound itself as far as I know.

The closest you're going to get is a Seymour Duncan SSL-1, RW/RP. Tonally, it sounds like a CS Fat 50s without the fat.

Thanks, for what I can see this looks like a good choice.

If you are familiar with these pickups, do you have a general advice on which of these sets of pickups would be best suited on a maple or rosewood neck?

You're welcome.

It really doesn't make much of a difference fingerboard wise as a tweak of the amp one way or the other will get you the same tonality.
