Ok thanks a lot.

I just have few questions about grounds :

- Should I put all my grounds (middle pick up, the one on the S1, the one on the BX and mid boost, the jack) on the TBX pot, on the volume pot or the mid boost pot, or on all of those pots ??

- And then, where do I put all of theses ground ? To the Tremolo ? To the coppers ?

One again : thank you

Solder all of those grounds to the back of the TBX pot.

Solder two wires into that cluster on the back of the TBX pot. One wire should be soldered to the tremolo spring plate.

For the other wire, there should already be a metal thing attached to a screw in the body of your guitar just under the pick guard. The other wire should go there.

To sum up : Wire to the TBX pot, and then to the tremolo and another where all the grond were before (and which now touch the copper)

Does is usefull that I use shield wire ?

Correct. There should already be a wire to the trem spring plate. Also, leave the small area where you ground the wires to the metal thing on the screw clear of copper.

Be sure to ground your copper. Just the same way everything else is (back of TBX).

Shielded wire is not necessary. Insulated wire, however, is a must.

Today, I went to a guitar shop near my house and he told me :
- Switch S-1 : 30€
- Mid boost Kit : 80€
- And 40-50€ for install it + shielding the guitar

= 200$

It's a bit expansive but I think it's the price....

I have one more question : I've heard that TBX tone control wasn't so great, I really like my tones control on my guitar, and i would asking if there was a way to put a "master tone" instead of the TBX. Would it change something or the TBX is already a "master tone" ??
If it could be a bypass like on my brige pick up currently, it would be awesome !!

Edit : for example : I've check the american deluxe diagram :
http://www.fender.com/fr-FR/support/art ... =downloads

and we see that if the S-1 is on, in position 3 : the neck and brige pickups are in parallel, and the middle pickup is in serie. There is just the tone number 2 who can be used :
- Does he affect on the all sound ?
- Just on the neck and brige pickups together ?
- Just on brige pickup ?
- Just on neck ?

I don't think he can influe just on middle pickup because this one is in series connection....

What do you think about it ?

Howdy!

If you are wiring the Fender Mid-boost kit with the S-1 Switching System you will only have the option for a Master Tone control.

This can be either the TBX that comes with the boost kit or you can use a standard tone pot though this will require a slight modification to the diagram posted on page two of this thread.

To have a tone bypass you could use a No-load tone pot which would essentially remove the pot from the circuit when turned to ten.

If it a professionnel who do this for me it won't be a problem :)

But concretly, do you advise me to use a standard tone or the TBX tone ?
And a bypass tone won't be so much different than a standard, exept in position "10" ?

Its up to you which type of pot you use.

Personally I prefer the TBX over a standard tone pot for this wiring scheme. Yours and others experiences may differ.

Yep, Form 9-1 the No-load Tone Pot will act pretty much the same as a standard tone pot.

Blimey!

At least I know how much to charge in future!

Woah so I just got down to wiring and have a simple question about the diagram of the tbx pot. On the schematic, are the upper soldering loops the higher or lower loops on the actual pot, if the pot was standing up with the pole on top?

So I just noticed a black bump on the side of the s1 in the diagram but it isn't on the pot. Should I just ignore it?

The black lump on the diagram represents a blob of solder on the side of the S-1 pot (as shown in the pic below). This is to ensure the pot casing is grounded.

Note: To avoid confusion, the above is a different wiring scheme. Its the only pic I have that shows the S-1 pot grounding clearly. :D
