I went to
www.extramusical.com/catalog/index.php and created a account then received and email that I can receive a free set of Fender Electric Guitar strings mailed to me for free, as well.

They say they are brand new unopened and have various guages, EVH and Bullets.

I will post on this thread once I receive the strings.

Good find - anything free in these credit-crunch times etc.

Personally speaking though, whenever I've bought a new Fender or Squier guitar, I couldn't get those damned Bullett strings off fast enough. They are horrible.

I too, congratulate the OP and commend him on his spirit of sharing.

You're statement is so true. The first thing I do when I bring home a new Fender is to remove those miserable strings and replace them with a set of my choice. Having said that and even though they are free, I'll still pass on the free set and let others who have a more favorable view of them get in on a good score.

so what kind of strings do you use? I like the standard bullets that came on my strat.

By the by, sorry you didn't get your bass from Santa.

I've been using Ernie Ball's Super Slinky set (.009 - .042) since 1968. Sure, I've tried a plethora of other brands/gauges over the years yet the Ernie Ball, "Pink Pack" is still my #1 choice after 40 some odd years.

Strings like picks are a most personal thing. The 'hierarchy' of, "good, better, best" directly shifts in accordance with the requirements of each individual player.

(To tell the truth, I really am bummed out about the T-Bass.)

I have Ernie Ball Regular S on one Strat, I have tried Super Slinky on my newer one, but now that I have a whammy bar fitted on it (yes i finally did it)
Now I am going to go back to the bullets because I hate how the ball ends clink around in the trem block during tremolo use.

Well, I signed up and got a confirmation email but there was no mention of free strings. It's a damn shame too, I just moved to Alabama and have yet to find a job. Thought maybe some free Fender Bullets to replace the worn out strings on my Squier Affinity would hit the spot.

Yep, I been playing Strats and Tele's since the early 70's and I gotta tell ya, pull the bullets and put on the Ernie Ball Pink Slinky. Your Axe will thank you for it.

IMO, Fender's best set was their original 150L. When those disappeared about thirty-five years ago I switched to GHS Boomers. I'll switch again only if those are discontinued or the quality tanks.
