Hey all, I bought a NEW 60's Road Worn Strat, yesterday from Guitar Center. When I asked about it having a tremolo bar, the clerk said it didn't come with one, but he'd throw a generic one in for me. When I got home, which is a cpl hr drive away, I tried to put the tremolo on, and its too big. It won't fit into the hole. I looked online and found out that the RW's indeed do come with not only a tremolo bar, but it has the same aged treatment as the rest of the hardware. Now I'm in another city and don't have a tremolo bar for my new strat. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

E-mail or phone Fender Customer Service about this. Have your guitar's model and serial number handy and also your receipt just in case they want the receipt's serial number too.

I bought a brand new 2003 American Series Strat in 2004. I never use the tremolo bar, but when I did eventually put it in I saw that it was at an angle (unlike my previous MIM Strat). The bar itself seems normal, but I think that the hole in the tremelo block must have been drilled crooked. Maybe it's the block itself... I don't know. But, I never use it anyway, so I'm not concerned about it. I just keep the bridge off the body a bit, and use my palm to push down. Everyone else usually lowers their notes, but I raise them... maybe I'm just weird?
